ESKIBAGLAR OKUZGOZU 2013
The robe is clean, ruby with hints of purple. On the nose, this red wine is clear and has medium plus intensity with mulberry, black cherry, ripe plum, and liquorice aromas. On the palate, it is very well balanced with high acidity, ripe tannins, velvety complex flavours and a long finish. This is an outstanding elegant red wine.
The grapes were harvested from around 15th September. After gentle crushing, maceration took place for 1 week in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. Then, the wine was matured for 1 year again in stainless steel tanks. This well balanced Okuzgozu had at least 6 months of bottle ageing before it was released.
Mr Firat Aral and Mrs Hilal Aral both are from Elazig, started growing their world famous grapes Okuzgozu and Bogazkere in 2006. The estate owned vineyards are located at an altitude of 1400 metres. The estate only grows these two indigenous grapes. Eskibaglar estate has one ambition; to create the best red wine made with Okuzgozu and Bogazkere.
